Step 1: For this first step you will want to set your oven to a preheat temperature of 350 degrees F, or 175 degrees C.
1 Bunch of Fresh Kale
2 Tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/3 Teaspoon of Black Pepper
Ready In
25 Minutes
1/2 Cup of Shredded Parmesan Cheese
Step 2: For this second step you will need to thoroughly wash and rinse your fresh bunch of kale. If your kale is not locally grown or organic, then you might want to consider spraying it with an all natural fruit and vegetable spray before rinsing it. Once your kale is clean and sterile go ahead and dry it off using a paper towel or kitchen towel. Next, separate the leafy portion of the kale from the tough inedible inner stalk. Lastly, you will want to tear the leafy kale into small to medium chip size pieces.
Step 3: Place your fresh leafy kale pieces into a large mixing bowl. Evenly sprinkle the extra virgin olive oil, black pepper, and shredded parmesan cheese over the kale chips. Using completely sterile hands, manually mix all of the ingredients together until the kale chips are evenly coated with the oil, cheese, and pepper. When doing the manual mixing make sure that you do it gently, otherwise the kale will get soggy and wilted.
Step 4: For this step you will need to completely line a large baking or cookie sheet with parchment paper. Next, lay out your oiled and seasoned kale chips on to the paper, making sure that you do not stack the chips on top of each other. They can overlap a little, but not too much, otherwise your delicious chips will stick together during the baking phase.
Step 5: Place your baking or cookie sheet into your oven and cook the parmesan kale chips at the preheat temperature listed in the first step. You will want to let them bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the outer edges of the chips are lightly brown and crispy. Do keep a close eye on your chips while they're baking, as they're extremely easily to overcook or burn.
Step 6: Once your kale chips are done remove them from the oven. Allow them to cool for approximately 5 to 10 minutes before eating them, as they'll be extremely hot. Be sure to eat some while they're still a little warm, as they're absolutely delicious.
Storage: These super tasty baked parmesan kale chips will keep for one week if stored in a sealable airtight vessel. Store them at room temperature out of contact with any direct sunlight.
